UPDATED: Man who threatened Chicago gay bars recaptured

CHICAGO — The Chicago Tribune on Thursday reported that Shane Sleeper, 31, who had been accused of threatening gay bars in Chicago, as released on Tuesday night.

The newspaper reported that the release was accidental and that Sleeper is still at large.

Sleeper was arrested in February and initially charged with misdemeanor charges of obstructing and resisting a peace officer, according to Cara Smith, policy chief for Cook County Sherif Tom Dart. In one of his threats, Sleeper allegedly said “Orlando will come to Chicago,’’ an apparent reference to the mass shooting at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando, Fla.

Christopher Clark named TPAN CEO

CHICAGO — TPAN announced on Tuesday that Christopher Clark had been hired as chief executive officer. He’ll start April 30.

TPAN is a social service agency for those living with HIV in the Chicago area. Clark joins TPAN following more than a decade of service at Lambda Legal. Since 2016, Clark has served as Lambda Legal’s Midwest Regional Director, responsible for the management of the Chicago office and the coordination of fundraising and public policy strategies in a 10-state Midwest region.
