HuffPost: Bayh to join Fox News

Having lived in Indiana when Bayh was governor, I actually like him. He is relatively conservative compared to most Democrats, but his time in office, at least as governor, he was pragmatic. He had his own stance on issues, but was willing to work and make deals to get things to work. Some people call that pandering, I call it getting stuff done.

However, I am iffy about him joining Fox News. Something about that network just seems do affect people who work for them. Look at Juan Williams. I’d listened to him for years on NPR. He, again, was pragmatic and flexible. But he became more reactionary the longer he was on Fox. And Glenn Beck, well, just look at him. He’s a case study in delusional issues.

So will Evan buck that trend? I’m hopeful, but not holding my breath. Maybe it’s something in the air conditioning at Fox headquarters.
