The Chicago Casual Traveler: Elmhurst Art Museum, Elmhurst, IL (DuPage County)

Destination of the Day: Elmhurst Art Museum, Elmhurst, IL (DuPage County)
This may be a small art museum, but it packs a punch. The museum’s collection skews Contemporary, and like many museums its size, tends to have frequent special exhibits. Ludwig Mies van deer Rohe’s McCormick House is part of the museum and can be toured. A sculpture garden adds a nice touch to the overall visit. Art in the Park, an annual juried show, will be held on 30 April – 1 May. For a longer visit include a trip to the nearby Lizzadro Museum of Lapidary Art and downtown Elmhurst.
