The Egyptian Theatre is one of a number of restored and active former opera and cinema houses in the Chicago region. Built in 1929, the cinema was designed during a wave of interest in all things Egyptian. Now it serves as the home base for more than 25 community groups. Upcoming events include Tournees French Film Festival (24 March), Rocky Horror Picture Show (film) (1 April), Second City’s Fair & Unbalanced (9 April).
