source) By “taxpayers,” Mr. Kline is referring to millionaires, who already pay less taxes than most Americans. Instead of paying their fair share, the top 1% will continue to benefit from the tax structure, while leaving struggling students – and their families – to pay more out of pocket each month.
Students in Illinois are faring poorly. The state’s Monetary Award Program (MAP) grant ran out of funding on March 13th of this year, and has been running out of money earlier every passing year. This greatly affects the financial stability of Illinois families that depend on it. (source)
