Rainbow Cafe to host sleepaway camp in September

CARBONDALE — The Rainbow Cafe, a LGBTQ safe space in southern Illinois, will be hosting a sleepaway camp at Camp Manitowa on Sept. 15 and 16.

From their announcement on Illinois Eagle Commons:

RC is hosting its first ever sleep away camp at Camp Manitowa near Carbondale Illinois! September 15 and 16. The sleep over option is available to 20 youth, ages 13-19. And, additional youth may attend the day programming.

As a back-to-school activity for our youth, we will provide two days of bonding, empowerment, and support through peer workshops, hiking, social activity and fun! We strive to make sure most programming is youth-led.

We are also raising money to subsidize the pricing for youth, who have limited resources, to attend camp at the affordable price of $25 for overnight campers and $15 for day campers.

If you know anyone who would be interested, let us know!!

Campers can fill register through the RC Youth Development Camp Google document.
