DECATUR — Decatur police are investigating an armed robbery near Ken’s A-line on Saturday, Oct. 13.
Decatur television station WAND-TV reported that police were called to the bar on East Eldorado Street late Saturday night after a man and a woman were robbed at gunpoint while smoking outside the back door of bar. The man was told to get on the ground and had his wallet taken. The woman had her purse taken. There are no reports of them being injured.
Police told the television station that the suspect was wearing a black hoodie with a white cloth over his face. The robbery took place at around 10:30 p.m. on Saturday. As of Tuesday afternoon, there had been no arrests.
Candy Walsh, manager, and Michael Cox, bartender, said that they were talking personally with bar patrons assuring them that the bar was a safe place to be. They are hoping to hear some news about the police investigation soon.
