Ohio State gets bacon vending machine because sometimes good things happen

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State University has just gotten a bacon vending machine, thanks to the Ohio Pork Council.

From 10TV in Columbus:

The machine, located in the Animal Science Building At the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences, will supply students with ready to eat bacon for $1 until December 13.

“The Bacon Vending Machine is a unique and fun way for the Ohio Pork Council to support Ohio State students and promote the pork industry at the same time,” said President-Elect Dave Shoup, Ohio Pork Council.

Hormel, Sugardale and Smithfield donated shelf-stable bacon strips and bits for the machine.

Proceeds from the machine will benefit the meat science program. Members of the program are responsible for stocking and maintaining the machine during its time on campus.
