SPRINGFIELD — Thanks to the generosity of the University of Illinois-Springfield’s Sangamon Auditorium, the Phoenix Center is selling tickets to the January 30 performance of “Rent.”

From the Facebook event:

UIS Performing Art Services / Sangamon Auditorium has offered The Phoenix Center a block of 56 amazing mezzanine seats for the 20th Anniversary performance of RENT. The tickets are $69 each and 10% of each ticket sold will go to The Phoenix Center but you have to purchase your ticket through the Center. You can submit a check, call the Phoenix Center office with a credit card or pay via the Phoenix Center website “donate” button. If you pay via the website you will need to call Jonna and let her know so she can reserve your seats (217-528-5253). If you have questions you can email Jonna at THANK YOU Bryan Rives & The UIS Performing Arts Services.

And if you need a refresher on the musical, here’s a description from Sangamon Auditorium:

A re-imagining of Puccini’s La Bohème, RENT follows an unforgettable year in the lives of seven artists struggling to follow their dreams without selling out. With its inspiring message of joy and hope in the face of fear, this timeless celebration of friendship and creativity reminds us to measure our lives with the only thing that truly matters—love.
