DECATUR — Ken’s A-Frame, the only LGBTQ bar still in Decatur, closes after tonight.

The news came from an announcement by bartender Michael Cox on Facebook.

Cox said that the bar owners are in their 80s and were wanting to retire. The building has been sold and tonight will be the last night the bar will be open.

“Thanks to everyone who has supported me and my efforts at Kens A-Frame,” Cox said in his Facebook post. “Ken and his wife found a buyer for the bar and as of 5 pm it is sold and closed. I’ve had so many great memories over the past 8 years there and formed many friendships. Will miss everyone and my crowd as we truly are family. I’ll have people over and we will meet out and stay in touch.”
