PEORIA — Common Ground at Bradley University will host a Pride Prom at the Hayden-Clark Alumni Center on Saturday, April 13.
“Pride Prom is the event of a lifetime,” the group said on their website. “An event dedicated to the celebration of the LGBTQ+ community, it’ll be a night of dancing, food, drag performance, and fun. Come to celebrate love in all forms and have yourselves a night to remember!”
The organization said that this won’t be the average high school prom. Since many LGBTQ individuals likely didn’t have the opportunity to be themselves at prom during high school, Pride Prom provides an environment where people can fully express who they are and who they love without repercussions.
The night is meant to be a night of fun with friends and a celebration of the community. All sexual orientations and gender identities are welcome at the event.
Pride Prom will be held on April 13th, 2019 in the Hayden-Clark Alumni Center at Bradley University in Peoria. Even though it is being hosted by Bradley, students from other area colleges are welcome.
Doors will open at 6 p.m., with the event going from 7-10 p.m.
Tickets are free, but a suggested donation of $10 pr person is appreciated. All proceeds will go to the Center for the Prevention of Abuse.by
