CHICAGO — Touché will present the latest BEAR ALL, a night of live music and song featuring the talent of local gay singers/songwriters at 9pm on Saturday, March 23rd. Over the past eight years, Scott Free, host of the long running Homolatte music series, has produced these BEAR ALL performances at Touché. Each of these special nights has showcased the talents of local gay artists expressing their passions, lives and sometimes politics of the gay male experience all in an acoustical setting.
Featured performers in this first edition for 2019 of BEAR ALL include:
Manny Petty lies somewhere between Tom Petty and a Mani-Pedi. Manny is a stand up guitarist and musical entertainer specializing in original music and parody songs. Petty has been an entertainer for over 15 years performing in Stand Up Comedy and Is also the lead singer of local Chicago Indie Band Mister E. Machine, who will be releasing their sophomore album “The Stone Wall in spring of 2019.
Jacob Bjorge’s music is a cross between influences such as Prince and Nine Inch Nails – his music is both innovative and familiar. Big melodies and even bigger hooks make Jacob Bjorge’s music earnest and innovative.
In 2005, a fresh faced Kipper Jones arrived in Chicago with two suitcases, a hunting knife and a dream of becoming a Emmy, Tony, Grammy and Oscar Award winning Superstar. Fourteen years, two children and one ridiculously large mortgage later, Kipper Jones, who is now held together with Botox and Spanx, has adjusted those dreams accordingly and just wants to get out of bed in the morning without throwing his back out. Because he lacks the intellect and talent it takes to write his own music, he performs reimagined and retooled covers of your favorite songs. From Radiohead to Beyoncé and everyone in between – yes, even yours!
Scott Free is an activist, musician, and LGBT music event producer, and has been involved with Chicago’s LGBT community for more than 25 years. Over the years, his musical styles have included punk, folk, musical theater, rap and house music. His rap video ‘Beat The Rap’ was on regular rotation on BET, and his house music video ‘Happy Again’ was in the Top 10 music videos on LOGO’s Click List. He currently curates Bear All at Touche, and Homolatte at Big Chicks, the longest running queer performance series in the country.
Hosting the night’s musical program will be local Bear comic Bryan Dowling.
Touche; proudly continues hosting this music series of local gay talent during which over 50 performers have wowed audiences with a variety of music ranging from folk and country to pop, dance and rap.
