CHICAGO — The Brave Space Alliance will be hosting a clothing swap/clothing drive on Thursday, June 6, at their location in Chicago.

From the Facebook event:

The QT Shop is LIVE! We will be hosting our first clothing swap/clothing drive on Thursday, June 6th from 12pm to 4pm at 2747 W 79th St.

We acknowledge the struggles of meeting basic needs within the LGBTQ+ specifically among Black, Brown, & Indigenous individuals of the community. With the lack of investment, jobs, and opportunities for financial stability and self-empowerment, Brave Space Alliance wants to start providing spaces for us to gather and meet those needs on the most basic and efficient level that we can: grassroots. Every month we will hold a pop-up on the South Side of Chicago. We ask for new/gently used donations for the summer from the Chicagoland Area. If you wouldn’t wear it or give it to your best friend to borrow, then don’t give it to us. We have very high standards because we want everyone to come out of our shop satisfied and feeling themselves. All leftover clothing will be donated to other mutual aid clothing drives and community organizations.

Items needed:

  • Short sleeve shirts of all sizes
  • Shorts of all sizes
  • Jeans of all sizes
  • Business casual clothing
