Transgender woman found in Dallas lake

DALLAS — A transgender woman’s body was found in a Dallas area lake, local media reported.

On Monday, the Dallas Voice reported that the body of a black transgender woman was found at White Rock Lake on Saturday. The newspaper reported that the police were not releasing any more details until a Monday afternoon press conference.

The woman is the third transgender woman of color to be killed in Dallas since October and the sixth nationally this year. One of the women in Dallas, Muhlaysia Booker, was killed just last month and became a national figure after a video of her being attacked went viral.

The Voice reported that a fourth Dallas woman was attacked with a knife in May but survived.
