BOSTON — A guy named Mark Sahady announced in a Facebook post that he had actually gotten permits for a “Straight Pride Parade” sometime this summer.
Buzzfeed reported that Boston officials were denying the group had received any permits. The idea has gone viral anyway.
Needless to say, Twitter had something to say:
Floats for the Straight Pride Parade…
– Giant AXE body spray
– Bag of Doritos
– Big Mountain Dew
– Tomi Lahren riding a Swastika
– Jacob Wohl waving on a Twinkie
– Charlie Kirk in a diaper
– The curly hair gun girl in a beige leotard riding an AR-15
– Giant Parent’s basement

Straight Pride Parade float themes:
Do you see why it’s a fucking stupid idea yet or do I have to paint you a rainbow?

Guy: “Heh, gonna organize a ‘Straight Pride’ parade to highlight hypocrisy when the city refuses to let me do it and it makes LGBT people angry. heh heh heh.”
City: “Go for it.”
LGBT people: [grab popcorn] “Good luck!”
Guy: “Oh no.”

I’m going to march in the Straight Pride Parade as an ally in support of all the straight girls who have woken up in my bed.

Does this mean us gays go there to protest and tell them how wrong it is? Hand out rainbow flags?
Let me know… https://t.co/wlV3Ozwffa

When I first started to see references to a straight pride parade on Twitter, I thought it was a joke, but I googled it anyway and it’s actually happening. I mean, it’s still a fucking joke, I just can’t believe that someone would actually go through with that. pic.twitter.com/m6860KrVkJ
