River City Pride in Peoria looking for volunteers, donations


PEORIA — River City Pride, Peoria’s Pride celebration, is looking for people to help make the inaugural event a success.

The even is looking for volunteers to operate the festival. Rolls to be filled include:


  • Set up/Tear down Assistants – directing vendors, blocking off vendor spaces, taking down the water station and grounds pick-up.

  • Greeters – directing people to the entry way and passing out pride guides/or cards that tells people how to connect to the welcome guide online. Also provide crowd control.

  • Waste Control – Working with the park district to empty trash bins, keep festival areas tidy.

  • Vendor & Entertainment Hospitality – Folks to meet needs of vendors and entertainers and to help entertainment move equipment on and off stage.

  • Dispatch Assistant – Help within the dispatch office, responding to radio calls and directing those calls to appropriate staff. This position requires STRONG communication experience.

Volunteers will receive a t-shirt, food ticket for use with any vendor, water and snacks. Shifts are four hours with a 15 minute break. You can find more information on the Peoria Proud website.
