Pride cakes back at Rockford restaurant after selling out

ROCKFORD — Beef-A-Roo, a restaurant in the Rockford area, has gotten more Pride cake slices after selling out recently.

Rockford CBS affiliate WIFR reported Monday that the restaurant is selling the cakes in recognition of Pride month and had to order the rainbow colored cake slices from New York.

From WIFR:

You can get a slice of the colorful cake at all Rockford area restaurants for $4.99 while slices last. A portion of each sale will go to PFLAG Rockford, an organization dedicated to LGBTQ rights.

“We think it’s just really cool that the mayor and the city got behind the idea of pride month,” said Beef-A-Roo owner Melissa Pratt. “We thought this could be a fun way just to visually show our support with a rainbow cake.”

The restaurant expects to sell out again.
