Varsity Drag Variety Show: Love Is in the Air on Feb. 1

CARBONDALE — The Varsity Center in Carbondale will present a variety show on Saturday, Feb. 1.

From the Facebook event page:

All you need is love, and The Varsity will have plenty of it for patrons when the first regular drag variety show of the new year takes place on the first Saturday of February.

The Love Is in the Air Varsity Drag Variety Show will feature comedy, dancing, live singing, lip-synching, games and stories by queens and kings. The godmother of drag herself, Blanche DuBois, is the evening’s emcee.

Joining Blanche on stage will be Faim Lee Jewls, Jodie Santana, Idina Rimes, Rain Foxx, Will Kummings and Kailey Kreme, who also is the evening’s hostess.

This is an all-ages show, and The Varsity welcomes young people; however, the show can be on the risqué side, and those 17 and younger must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

The show begins at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb 1. Tickets are $6 for adults, $4 for students with ID, and $2 for kids 10 and younger. They are available in advance at www.thevarsitycenter.eventbrite.com. Tickets are not available in advance at the venue but will be available on the night of the show, when doors and the Varsity Bar open at 6.

Come early and enjoy a special cocktail at the bar and the company of Kailey and the Varsity staff. Bartender Alex Socorro will be mixing special drinks for the evening.
