Metro East Pride Fest to now be held in August

BELLEVILLE — Metro East Pride announced on Monday they were moving their festival to Saturday, Aug. 1.

From Metro East Pride’s Facebook post:

As a result of the Coronavirus Pandemic, Metro East Pride has decided to postpone 2020 Metro East Pride Fest until Saturday, August 1. The Board of Directors agreed, if at all possible, that we would like to hold this year’s Pride Fest instead of canceling it. While many other events have been canceled in their entirety, Metro East Pride feels we can safely hold our festival later in the summer. Please be assured, we will comply with all city, county, state and national guidelines and, if there are recommendations against large gatherings of people, we will be forced to cancel it. The health and well-being of LGBTQ+ members and the entire Metro East area are of great importance to us and we will not do anything to jeopardize them, For now, please update your calendars, keep in touch with friends and family and follow the recommendations of all governing bodies. Be proud and most importantly be safe!
