ST. LOUIS — Pride St. Louis announced Monday night that they were postponing this year’s PrideFest until Aug. 15-16.
The event was originally set for June 27-28.
From the Facebook post:
Pride St. Louis is honored to serve the St. Louis LGBTQIA+ community and strives to be a leader in our community, even when it means making difficult decisions.
We have been monitoring the scope of the COVID-19 pandemic and closely relying on information from city, state and federal officials and health professionals. Due to this information, we, the Board of Pride St. Louis, have decided that the most responsible way to honor our commitment to our LGBTQIA+ Community is to set a new date for St. Louis PrideFest 2020 to August 15-16, 2020.
The theme for PrideFest 2020 is “We Are Family.” This theme depicts the essence of solidarity and family that runs deep in our LGBTQIA+ Community. This decision to move PrideFest 2020 was difficult for the Board to make, but the health and safety of our LGBTQIA+ Community, our family, and all those who celebrate with us, remains our main priority.
PrideFest 2020 will be on Saturday, August 15th 11am-7pm and Sunday, August 16th 11am-6pm with the Grand Pride Parade stepping off from Market at 8th street at Noon on Sunday, August 16th.
PrideFest 2020 will remain at Soldier’s Memorial, in downtown Saint Louis, MO. We look forward to seeing everyone on August 15-16, 2020 for a weekend of fun, family, and memories.
