LA Pride cancelled over coronavirus

LOS ANGELES — Los Angeles became the latest large city to cancel or postpone their Pride celebrations on Thursday.

In the past two months, New York City and San Francisco have cancelled their Pride Parades and Chicago has put theirs off until the fall.

From the Associated Press:

The 50th annual LA Pride Parade and Festival will be held digitally this year, according to nonprofit organizer Christopher Street West.

The event typically occurs in June and attracts thousands of people to West Hollywood for the celebration.

Officials hope to resume the festival in-person in 2021.

Most Pride celebrations across Illinois have been cancelled or postponed.
