PEORIA — Peoria Proud will kick of Pride month with a Pride Ride this Sunday, May 31.

From the Facebook event:

To kick off Pride month for 2020, we are so excited to bring you an awesome, pride-filled (and safe!) event that we all can enjoy – our first annual Pride Ride!! The Pride Ride will be a parade throughout the Bradley/Peoria area that hopes to celebrate LGBTQ+ togetherness.

The parade will begin at 1:00 PM at Lit! On Fire Used Books, and will travel through the surrounding areas in the subsequent half hour. By 1:30 PM, we will end our parade at Imago Dei Church, where we will have drag performances and more socially-distanced comradery. See our official parade map here on our event page!!

But to make this parade an AMAZING success, we need YOU!!! Come to the parade route and share your pride spirit – deck yourself out in pride gear, make us some great signs, or whatever creative ideas you can think of! Bring your friends/family/dogs, but PLEASE remember to follow social distancing guidelines (including gathering in groups of 10 or less) – following these guidelines is essential to making this event great as well.

We hope this event allows us to come together all while following the latest state policies. See the following link for Illinois Phase 3 recommendations and guidelines, effective for Peoria on May 29th:
