CARBONDALE — The Rainbow Cafe LGBT Youth Center, the SIU LGBT Resource Center and Southern Illinois Pride are hosting an online panel discussion on Saturday, June 27.

Join moderator Vernon Cooper, SIUC Resource Center Coordinator, in this discussion regarding issues faced by LGBTQ college students and the resiliency to overcome them.

Co-Hosted by Rainbow Cafe LGBTQ Center and part of our Southern Il Pride Fest Virtual Series. Preregister through EventBrite to receive Zoom access.

Panel Includes:

Myles Miranda (he/him) is a senior at SIUC majoring in Paralegal/Pre-Law Studies and minoring in Women, Gender and sexuality Studies.

Kamil Rizvi (he/him) is a sophomore at SIUC from Naperville, Illinois. He is majoring in zoology and music theory – composition with an interest in veterinary medicine.

Natalie Fahey (she/her) graduated in December of 2019 with a bachelors of science in automotive technology from SIU. She competed for the SIUC swimming and diving team for all four years, while becoming the first Transgender Woman to compete openly in Division 1 NCAA swimming.


Jacob Lang (He/Him for now) is a second year student at SIUC and is as yet undecided on a major.
