National LGBTQ Task Force conference going virtual in 2021

WASHINGTON — The National LGBTQ Task Force announced on Thursday that its annual Creating Change conference will be virtual in 2021.

The civil rights organization said that the event will be virtual for the first time in its 33-year history. The decision was made in light of the coronavirus pandemic.

“Under Mayor Muriel Bowser’s phased plan to reopen DC amid the global pandemic, events with over 250 people will be not permitted until a vaccine is developed and widely distributed,” the Task Force stated on their website. “Even the most optimistic predictions advise that this is not likely by January 2021.”

The organization said that workshop and caucus sessions, keynote speakers, and community care spaces will still be a part of the conference.

We will pass on details as we get them.
