LOUISVILLE — The Kentucky Youth Law Project is seeking young people to be a plaintiff in a legal challenge to Kentucky birth certificate laws.
From the Facebook post:
Have you or your transgender young person been denied a gender marker change on a birth certificate because you or they have not completed gender transition surgery?
KYLP is considering a possible legal challenge to the Kentucky law that requires complete surgical reassignment before the state will change a gender marker.
If you are interested in being a party to such a challenge, we would be interested in hearing your story. Please let us hear from you. You can email us at kylplegal@gmail.com.
The mission of the KYLP is to protect the legal rights and entitlements of LGBTQ youth through direct, no-fee legal representation, education and public policy advocacy and development.
