Spencer Pride cancelled for 2020

SPENCER, Ind. — Spencer, the smallest Indiana community to hold a Pride celebration, has cancelled their in-person festival for 2020.

In an announcement on their website, Spencer Pride Board of Directors said they had cancelled the event that had been rescheduled to October 17.

“We are saddened by this cancellation but committed to doing our part to keep our community safe,” the organization said. “This decision was made in consultation with the Owen County Health Department.”

However, Spencer Pride said they are expanding virtual and (limited capacity) in-person Pride Week festivities.   We will be hosting a variety of virtual and (limited capacity) in-person events.

The organization will release details on upcoming events as they become available.

For more information about the cancellation and to get a small preview of the new plans, people can attend Annual General Meeting on Sunday, August 2 at 4 PM (EST).  The event will be broadcast on Zoom (for those who wish to interact) and will be live-streamed on the Spencer Pride Facebook Page.
