Trump calls for ‘peace’ in tweet, but still claims election is fraudulent
WASHINGTON — Trump tweeted a video calling for his supporters to go home even as he maintained that the election was fraudulent.
Twitter has actually blocked the tweet from being replied to, retweeted or liked “due to a risk of violence.”
In the video, he told the insurrectionists who stormed the U.S. Capitol to “go home.” But at the same time, he told them they were “robbed” and that the election was fraudulent. It also comes less than an hour after Trump attacked Vice-President Mike Pence for not overturning the election.
Hundreds stormed the capitol building, forcing a lockdown and stopping the session that was holding the official electoral vote count.
