Central Illinois chapter of TransParent starting up

McLEAN COUNTY — TransParent, a support group for parents/caregivers of transgender children, is starting up in central Illinois.

In a message to Illinois Eagle, organizer Mary Borth said that TransParent envisions a world that honors and affirms the naturally occurring transgender experience. Their mission is to bring support to parents and caregivers navigating complex issues faced by gender independent individuals. They help the parents so the parents can help their children.

TransParent normally meets the second Tuesday of every month at 109 W Monroe in downtown Bloomington. Meetings are on Zoom until local health regulations allow in-person meetings.

The central Illinois chapter covers Peoria, Bloomington/Normal, an Champaign/Urbana.
