Equality Illinois to hold virtual Gala for 30th anniversary

Equality Illinois will be holding their annual gala virtually this year and celebrating their 30th anniversary.

The Gala starts at 7 p.m. CST on Saturday, Feb. 6, and is presented by the Molson Coors Beverage Company.

This year, the LGBTQ rights group will honor Imani Rupert-Gordon, executive director of the National Center for Lesbian Rights and former executive director of Affinity Community Services in Chicago; the late United States Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg; and the Broadway Youth Center, a program of Howard Brown Health.

The event will also feature a raffle for a trip to Bali, a silent auction for incredible packages, remarks from Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker and Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot, and a special performance from a Grammy winning artist.

Proceeds from the event will support the Equality Illinois Institute, which educates and advocates for the full equality of LGBTQ Illinoisans.

To buy tickets, raffle tickets and to be a sponsor, go to the Equality Illinois website.
