Equality Illinois sets Virtual LGBTQ Advocacy Day for May 12

Equality Illinois this week announced a virtual lobbying day for the General Assembly legislative session on May 12.

People who register for the Virtual LGBTQ Advocacy Day will also participate in a virtual lunch program and virtual early evening reception and be asked to take five to six civic actions throughout the day.

“While LGBTQ Advocacy Day will look different this year, we must still SHOW UP! and SPEAK UP! to make sure that our state continues to demonstrate its values of being fully equal and inclusive,” the civil rights organization said in its announcement. “This is a great opportunity to virtually engage with fellow supporters of LGBTQ equality and let your voice be heard on issues that affect us all, such as the REACH Act (HB 1736) and HIV Decriminalization Bill (SB 655).”
