Someplace Else, the oldest LGBTQ bar in Evansville, Ind., will reopen on Sept. 10.

The bar, near the city’s downtown, has been closed since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, according to the Evansville Courier & Press.

“We have been shut down since March 15 of 2020 so I’m taking that time to do some renovations and are excited to see all of our customers,” Belinda Breivogel, Someplace Else’s current owner, told Illinois Eagle.

Breivogel, who has been the owner for 11 years, told the Courier & Press that she took ownership over from her grandmother Ellen Campbell. The bar opened in 1990.

The bar has remained active on their Facebook page and is looking for staff to prepare for the reopening.
