State rep to host LGBTQ diversity discussion roundtable

State Rep. Natalie Manley (D-Joliet)

State Rep. Natalie Manley (D-Joliet) announced Thursday that she will host a roundtable discussion on LGBTQ experiences.

“One of the most important parts of my job as a representative of our community is to hear from residents of all different backgrounds,” said Manley in a press release. “This is a great opportunity for LGBTQ+ residents to make their voices heard and give feedback on what issues they would like to see state government address moving forward.”

The roundtable will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 9, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Zoom. At the event, attendees will be able to share their experiences and discuss the issues facing the LGBTQ community. To participate or for additional information, residents should contact Manley’s full-time constituent service office by emailing [email protected].

“Everyone, regardless of their sex, gender, sexual orientation, race or any other demographic category deserves to be treated fairly under the law,” she said. “No one should be made to feel marginalized or treated differently due to their background, and I will continue to work to ensure that all Illinoisans are equal under the law.”
