Acorn Equality Fund holding Family Breakfast on Dec. 4

The Acorn Equality Fund will hold its Annual Family Breakfast on Saturday, Dec. 4, at the Embassy Suites Hotel in East Peoria.

The annual breakfast is when the Fund awards scholarships to LGBTQ students and allies and is also the organization’s biggest annual fundraiser.

Last year’s breakfast was held virtually because of the coronavirus pandemic. This year will be a combined virtual and in-person event. The in-person event features a breakfast buffet. Capacity for in-person attendees will be limited. Doors will open and breakfast will be available beginning at 8:30 a.m. The program will begin at 9:30 a.m.

Tickets are $35 each (or $280 for a table of 8). With the purchase a table of 8, you get recognized as a Table Captain in the breakfast program with a sign at the table. Table Captains will have reserved seating for themselves and their guests. All other attendees will be able to choose their seats as they arrive.

Be prepared to show proof of being fully vaccinated or a negative COVID-19 test result dated no earlier than December 1. Face coverings (completely covering nose and mouth) must be worn when not seated. Guidelines are subject to change and will be communicated by email to the ticket purchaser.

The virtual event allows unlimited capacity and accessibility for guests. The live stream will begin at 9:30 a.m. from the Embassy Suites and will conclude at 10:30 a.m. Tickets are $15 each. Please purchase an individual ticket for each guest viewing via live stream. If you purchase a virtual “table” of 8 tickets ($150), you get recognized as a Table Captain and list you or your organization in the breakfast program.
