Acorn Equality Fund seeking new board members

The Acorn Equality Fund (AEF) is seeking new members for their board of directors.

The fund is a grassroots nonprofit organization that provides financial support for the advancement of education, health, and civil rights of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender persons and their allies. They give grants to LGBTQ organizations and student scholarships in Illinois.

Gregory Haines, board chair of the AEF, said they are looking for up to five board members.

“We have no residency restrictions, although we are looking for applicants who can represent the broad region we serve (including all Illinois counties except Cook, DuPage, Grundy, Kane, Kendall, Lake, McHenry, and Will),” he said. “Board meetings are held monthly and are usually able to be attended virtually or via telephone.”

For questions, contact an AEF board member. The online application form is available here.
