Equality Illinois issues COVID-19 protocols for annual gala

Equality Illinois (EI) has issued protocols for their upcoming annual gala.

The two biggest parts of the protocol are that all attendees will need to provide proof of vaccination and a negative COVID-19 test no earlier than Feb. 3.

Attendees and staff will also be required to wear masks at all times except eating or drinking, per Chicago ordinance. Tables at the Hilton Chicago will also be spaced to allow for social distancing and will be using CleanStay protocols.

Dancing will not be held after the gala ceremony and attendees should get a COVID test two to three days after and report if they get a positive test.

This is EI’s first in-person gala since 2020. The 2021 event was held virtually because of coronavirus concerns. Proceeds from the event will support the Equality Illinois Institute.

The gala will be at the Hilton Chicago, 720 S. Michigan Ave. in Chicago, on Feb. 5. Tickets can be purchased here. A full explanation of protocols is available here.
