Springfield’s PrideFest will be returning on Saturday, May 21, after a hiatus.
The Phoenix Center, Springfield’s LGBTQ community center, is the host of the event. It will be scaled back somewhat to account for COVID-19 safety, but there will be food and drink, live music, a drag show and vendors.
If you are interested in being a food vendor or have questions, send an email to Jonna at [email protected] with a detailed list of what you would like to sell (including drinks). All vendors will be reviewed to avoid duplicate foods, and those selected will be notified and sent a formal food vendor application. Food vendors must be under a tent, in a trailer or a food truck.
The fest is also looking for volunteers to help with the event. People are needed for hospitality, helping set up, the family area or checking IDs. Groups and families are welcome to volunteer together.
There is no parade this year and the ribbon cutting for the fest itself will be at noon at 4th Street and Capitol. Entertainment goes until 10 p.m.
