Heartstopper Vol. 2 is a heartwarming tale

I have a previous review of the the first Heartstopper graphic novel here: https://illinoiseagle.com/2021/06/22/five-graphic-novels-to-read-for-pride/.

Heartstopper Volume 2 by Alice Oseman features the development of Charlie and Nick’s relationship which was really sweet. They like each other so much, but are both bit awkward and oblivious. They are each unsure if the other boy feels the same way or how to define their relationship.

Nick slowly begins to realize that he’s bisexual which was very endearing to watch, as at first he did not know what bisexuality is. It warmed my bisexual heart although it was saddening that he didn’t know what what bisexuality is. He decides that they should keep their relationship a secret until he feels ready to come out. I won’t spoil the ending but I did enjoy that part.

It was a short graphic novel so I did find it a bit unsatisfying, but they are more books in the series. I just have to get my hands on the third one which is currently unavailable at my local library. So it may be a while before I am able to read and review Heartstopper Volume 4. All in all, if you want a sweet heartwarming LGBTQ+ graphic novel, I would recommend Heartstopper Volume 2, after reading Volume 1, of course.
