Clock Inc. will open its doors to the public for its grand opening event on Thursday, April 28. Doors will open at 5 p.m. with the program beginning at 5:30 p.m. The new Clock space is located in the Rock Valley Plaza at 4102 46th Ave., Rock Island, Ill.

The grand opening is free and includes a silent auction, tours of the new space, a ribbon-cutting ceremony, a short program including area dignitaries, a sparkling wine toast, performances and food and beverages.

“Our grand opening has been a long time coming,” said Chase Norris, executive director of Clock Inc. “For being such a young organization, COVID dealt us some tough cards. Luckily with the support of the community, we’ve held on and managed to take big strides to grow and now everyone gets to enjoy in that together.

Clock Inc. is a LGBT+ community center for youth and adults that hosts weekly support groups, free and reduced counseling services, LGBT+ trainings, a clothing swap, workshops, and it doubles as a live venue.

“People in the Quad Cities are looking for a safe space where community is built, and this new location has already provided a safe space for those wanting to connect and create deeper community,” said Norris. “To finally open it up to the public and show it off to the community after such a dark timein our collective history feels amazing.”
