LGBTQ bar Clique gets expanded liquor license

Springfield’s LGBTQ bar Clique got their liquor license expanded to 3 a.m. during a city council meeting on Tuesday, April 19.

The State Journal-Register reported that the council voted 6-2 in favor with Ward 2 Ald. Shawn Gregory and Ward 7 Ald. Joe McMenamin voting no. Ward 4 Ald. John Fulgenzi voted “present.” Ward 10 Ald. Ralph Hanauer was absent.

“We feel great about the supporters,” Clique co-owner Josh Delcour told the newspaper. “We’re here to provide a safe space for a community that didn’t have one any longer, so we’re just happy with the results.”

The bar opened last year. The Journal-Register reported that Delcour and Justin Rebbe had bought the Club Station House bar and moved the location. Former Club Station House owner Ryan Bandy had talked with the city about transferring the license to the new owners and location.

The original Club Station House location was damaged by a fire while it was being renovated during the COVID-19 shutdown.
