Black Lives Matter SPI, Resistor Sisterhood to host community follow up meeting

Black Lives Matter SPI and Resistor Sisterhood will be hosting a community follow up meeting at Springfield’s Lincoln Public Library on Wednesday, May 11.

The meeting is a follow up to an April meeting hosted by the Springfield NAACP and the Springfield Jewish Federation in response to a Springfield police officer who was put under investigation for racist social media posts at the beginning of April.

The organizers have put together a list of issues from the previous meeting as a starting point and are looking for community input in selecting the most important issues needing action by the Springfield Police Department.

The meeting will be in the Carnegie Room North at 5:30 p.m. The Lincoln Public Library is at 326 S. 7th St. in Springfield. Register for the meeting here.
