Mt. Carmel Pride Fest returning for a second year

Mt. Carmel will host its second Pride festival on Saturday, June 11.

The small town on the Indiana border had more than 100 people show up at the first Pride last year. Like last year, the festival is sponsored by Mt. Carmel Rally for Justice and the Wabash County Democratic Central Committee.

Along with live performances by Cece Blackford and crafting with Cosmic Candles, AJKLei and Blur the Colors, there will also be food from Abbi’s Salad To Go Go, Chino Tack, Fire Chicken and Jeanne’s Gelato on the Go.

There will be booths staffed by the Wabash County Health Department, Greater Evansville youth, CAISA Counseling and information about sexual abuse and assault.

Activities will include an open mic, tie-dye station, guided painting, a photo booth, corn hole, giveaways and more.

The festival will be at Merchants Park, 334 N. Market St. in Mt. Carmel. It starts at 4 p.m. and goes on until 7 p.m.
