CU Pride announces parade grand marshal

CU Pride has announced all educators as the grand marshal of the Pride Parade.

From the UP Center Facebook page:

Every queer person has a story about an educator – whether it was a teacher, librarian, social worker, or anyone working so hard in our schools to care for the growth and development of young people. Someone who saw them for who they truly are, who encouraged them, who appreciated them, who made them feel loved and supported, who was a beacon of light in a world that can sometimes feel very dark. Educators deserve a million dollars, way more support staff, and many really long massages. While we fight for that, we will take a moment to send some love back in their direction by honoring them as this year’s Pride Fest Grand Marshals. Any educator, past or present, is invited to join us on Sat Oct 1st and march in our parade in this position of honor. Come let us thank you. It won’t nearly be enough to show how much you’ve touched our lives and made this world a better place. But it’s a start.
