In another push against the LGBTQ communities of the suburbs, a large number of anti-LGBTQ parents showed up at a Plainfield Park District meeting.
chicagofreemedia, a media collective based in Chicago, reported that a crowd showed up to the park district objecting to a Pride event at a city park.
Plainfield Pride’s Pride at PARC is set for Sunday, Oct. 16, at Parc Prairie Activity and Recreational Center. Along with vendors and food trucks, there is also an all-ages drag show.
There has been a coordinated effort by far-right activists, especially in the Chicago suburbs, to prevent any event that has drag and invites families to attend.
