Springfield holds World AIDS Day service

The Springfield community held a memorial service to those lost to AIDS on Saturday, Dec. 3.

The service was held at the the AIDS Memorial Labyrinth in Lincoln Park on Springfield’s north side. Speakers remembered those who have been lost as well as those who cared for people during the height of the AIDS crisis in the 1980s and 90s.

The service was presented by the First Church of the Brethren, the Coalition of Rainbow Alliances, Fifth Street Renaissance, Phoenix Center and Heartland MCC.
