The city of Peoria is looking for people to join the Joint Commission on Racial Justice and Equity.

In a Facebook post, the city said that the commission is a coalition through both Peoria County and the city of Peoria with a mission to accelerate efforts to institutionalize racial justice and equity within county and city government and to advance its adoption throughout the region.

The commission and its committees are volunteer-based, meet monthly, and consist of public community members. Applications are open and ongoing.

To apply, go to the City of Peoria website.
