GENEVA – Belong: Fox Valley is putting out a call for people to attend the Kane County Board meeting on Tuesday, June 27.
The organization said that the county board is having a special meeting at 11:30 a.m. to issue a proclamation for Pride Month. According to Belong: Fox Valley, there is word that protesters could show up to oppose the declaration.
Pride Month proclamations have become a target of conservative activists this year, despite the proclamations being increasingly common at the local level over the past decade.
The meeting will be at the Kane County Government Center, Building A, at 719 S. Batavia Ave. in Geneva.
