MOLINE – The Project of the Quad Cities (TPQC) announced on Wednesday, Aug. 30, that it was moving to a new location.
TPQC is a health service agency that offers HIV/STI testing and treatment, gender-affirming care, counseling, and other LGBTQ-focused care in the Quad Cities area.
The agency will move into the former John Deere Medical Group building at 4101 John Deere Road in Moline. The move comes as the scope of their services has been expanding in recent years, especially as states like Iowa just across the river have gotten more restrictive in healthcare.
Last month, TPQC started fundraising to support gender-affirming care after a ban on care for youth in Iowa.
“The Project must do what’s necessary to care for our community,” said TPQC CEO Caitlin Wells in a statement. “This move enables us to better serve people living with HIV while supporting our growth in behavioral health and LGBTQ+ healthcare.”
The new location has four exam rooms, five behavioral health offices, two large group meeting rooms, and space for a pharmacy.
“We’ve been doing this work since 1986,” Wells said. “Along the way we’ve had to evolve. The space will allow us to continue growing and, when necessary, adapt to the ever-changing nature of the work we do.”
TPQC expects to move and reopen at the new location by November.
Community open houses will be held in early 2024.
