Annual Black Lives Matter Solidarity Procession

May 29, 2022 @ 1:00 pm 4:00 pm

Black Lives Matter SPI is hosting our 3rd Annual “Black Lives Matter Solidarity Procession” for Breonna Taylor, Reasjon Reed and George Floyd along with the countless other men and women murdered at the hands of law enforcement. We are continuing to ask for transparency in the investigation of former Officer Nichols. We are also asking the Springfield Police Department to respond to all the concerns and suggestions by the Springfield community during the Unity Forum on April 13th. Please join us in solidarity as we continue to push for answers.

The Car Procession will take place Sunday, May 29th at 1:00pm.

Please meet at the 9th & Adams parking lot across from the BOS Center at 12:30pm. A member of BLM SPI will help facilitate the vehicle lineup. The Car Procession will begin after opening remarks and a short program.

A map of the procession route will be posted soon within this Facebook event. We will also have paper maps on hand if needed. Please be sure to follow the route and instructions provided to ensure the safety of all participants and Springfield residents. It is also very important to abide by all traffic lights and signs while en route.

We encourage everyone to decorate their vehicles and create signs to show love, support and hope for the cause. If you live along the route, we encourage you to come out to see us, wave signs and show your support. Thank you!
