Pump Boys and Dinettes

January 3, 2022 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

$18 – $20

The Hoogland Center for the Arts is pleased to present PUMP BOYS AND DINETTES at the Hoogland Center for the Arts on March 11-13 and 18-20 on the LRS Stage.

Pump Boys and Dinettes is a musical full of joy‚ a little bit of heartbreak‚ and lots of hilarity. Somewhere between Frog Level and Smyrna, North Carolina, way down on Highway 57, the ‘Pump Boys’ sell high octane and the ‘Dinettes’ serve up plenty of pie and sass at the Double Cupp Diner next door.

The hardworking fellas at the gas station have been known to do some auto repairs‚ but only when aided by some great tunes and a few beers. Next door there’s the Double Cupp Diner‚ where the Cupp sisters offer up their famous home cooking and gift for song. Together they fashion an evening of stories and country songs that will have you stompin’ and yellin’ for more. With heartache and hilarity, they perform the stories of their lives on guitars, piano, bass and – believe it or not – kitchen utensils. This musical is a celebration of life‚ love‚ Dolly Parton‚ and catfish!

PUMP BOYS AND DINETTES features book, lyrics and music by John Foley, Mark Hardwick, Debra Monk, Cass Morgan, John Schimmel and Jim Wann.

The Hoogland production is being directed by Joe-Michael Jackson, with musical direction by Kayla Primm. The cast includes Scott Lecocq as Jim, Albert Capati as Jackson, Hope Cherry as Rhetta Cupp, Lindsey Rudd as Prudie Cupp, Blake Martin as Eddie and Zachary Eymann on harmonica.
