Planned protest against STL Drag Queen Storytime is getting dragged

ST. LOUIS — The Riverfront Times in St. Louis has found out that there is a protest coming for an upcoming Drag Queen Storytime event. The newspaper said that a Facebook event post titled “Protest Against Schlafly Library’s Drag Queen Storytime”, organizers are asking protesters to “Come in your most patriotic gear and help us hand out brochures with information about children with gender dysphoria.”

‘In Her Closet—How to Make a Drag Queen’ exhibit opens at Surplock Museum in Sept.

URBANA — A new exhibit, “In Her Closet—How to Make a Drag Queen,” will open at the Spurlock Museum in Urbana on Sunday, Sept. 15. From the Facebook event:

Chicago drag performer GiGi Mayonaé dies after accident with drunk driver

CHICAGO — Drag performer GiGi Mayonaé died this past weekend following a serious car accident with a drunk driver. CWBChicago reported on Saturday that Mayonaé’s car was hit head on while she was driving down Halsted in Chicago’s Boystown neighborhood early Thursday morning. The website reported that the other driver, Gerrick Birt, 29, was charged Friday with felony DUI causing an accident with bodily harm, two counts of misdemeanor DUI and traffic violations, including failure to have insurance. He reportedly had a blood alcohol level of .253, almost three times the legal limit. CWBChicago and Chicago.GoPride both reported that as of Saturday, Mayonaé was still posting on social media, saying she would be having surgery for her pelvis, which was fractured in the accident.
